• Application for Farmer's Market Vendor Space

    Use this application to request space in the North Parking Lot of the H. Lee Dennison Building for Suffolk County's Farmers Market. The Market is open rain or shine on Thursdays from 10 AM to 2 PM from June through October.
  • Before approval of the application can be granted, a non-governmental applicant must submit a Certificate of Insurance evidencing Commercial General Liability Insurance with a minimum limit of Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) per occurrence combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage and naming the County of Suffolk as an additional insured in a form acceptable to the Suffolk County Division of Risk Management. In certain circumstances, applicants may apply for a waiver to reduce the required insurance limit to One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00), but this must be approved by the Division of Risk Management. With respect to governmental and municipal entities, such applicants must provide evidence of either (i) insurance in the amounts and types described above and applicable to non-governmental entities or (ii) self-insurance in a form and amount acceptable to the Suffolk County Division of Risk Management.   • The County of Suffolk is responsible for enforcing Article 13 of the Suffolk County Sanitary Code.

    Therefore, any food provided will require the application for and approval of a Temporary Food Service Vendor Permit issued by the Suffolk County Department of Health Services. The cost of this permit is $210. The application must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event.  For more information, please contact the Bureau of Public Health Protection at (631) 852-5999 or visit their website. 

    If you are serving individually pre-packaged food or beverage items that do not require heat treatment or refrigeration for food safety, and it is manufactured in a commercial, licensed/permitted facility and is labeled according to New York State guidelines, a Temporary Event permit is not required.

    In all circumstances, any non-County individual or entity utilizing Public Space within County facilities must agree, in writing, to indemnify against, hold harmless, and defend the County of Suffolk, its employees, officers, agents, or any other person acting on its behalf, from all liabilities, fines, claims, actions, damages to property, damages or bodily injury to persons including death, demands, suits, losses, penalties, or expenses, including attorney’s fees (“Losses”), caused by or in connection with any act, omission, or negligence of the individual, entity, or any of their respective employees or agents acting on their behalf or arising out of in connection with the use of Public Spaces within County facilities, except in cases of the County’s sole negligence.

    Applicants will be notified as soon as possible whether their application has been approved.

    Cancellation of Reservation Due to County Closure

    The Suffolk County Farmer’s Market operates rain or shine.  However, in the event the County government is declared closed due to inclement weather or for other reasons in the discretion of the County, any reservation or permission to use the grounds is automatically withdrawn during the closure period.  

    In the event a facility is closed due to unexpected circumstances and/or inclement weather, the County shall attempt to notify the vendor ahead of time.

    Prohibitions

    There shall be no alcoholic beverages served upon, consumed upon, or brought onto County property.

    There shall be no illegal drugs brought onto or used on County property.

    Smoking and vaping is prohibited in all County buildings and within a 50' radius of all entrances to county buildings.

    Firearms are not permitted on County property.

     

    Set Up and Clean-Up

    Any needed equipment or furniture must be supplied by the vendor.

    After use of the parking lot, the vendor shall be responsible for returning their space to its original condition and configuration. Any violation of this policy may result in a revocation of the vendor's permit 

    This policy remains in effect until revised or rescinded.

  • HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT

    The applicant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the County of Suffolk, its employees, officers, agents, or any other persons acting on its behalf, against loss or expense, including attorney’s fees, except in cases of the County’s negligence, for damage because of bodily injury including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons; or on account of damage to property arising out of or in consequence of the use of property covered by this agreement, whether such injuries to persons or damage to property.
