  • Calling All Suffolk County Communities: Join Us in Honoring America’s 250th!

In 2026, our nation will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence — and Suffolk County is proud to be part of this once-in-a-generation celebration. We invite every town, village, hamlet, historical society, civic group, school, library, and neighborhood organization across Suffolk County to take part in the planning and celebration. Whether through parades, public art, festivals, lectures, reenactments, storytelling, or community service projects, we want every corner of our county to reflect the spirit of 1776 and showcase our diverse contributions to the American story.
  • Apply here to register your planning group or organization and receive an official Suffolk250-Designated Community certificate from the Suffolk County Executive.
